On Zoey orders, you are able to generate invoices up to the quantity of items on the order. For various reasons, a business may need to generate an additional invoice after all ordered items are already invoiced.
For instance, if the calculated shipping amount changes and requires an additional charge, but there are no more items to invoice, it was previously not possible to generate any further changes. You also could not exceed the grand total.
We’ve implemented simple tools that allow the creation of additional invoices through the use of a Virtual Item. Virtual items without required customizations are the only ones supported for this feature. If you don’t use Virtual Items or don’t have one set up for this purpose, we’ve got a guide to help you get started.
To generate an additional invoice, you’ll add the qualifying virtual product. You can set a price and quantity. This effectively allows invoicing beyond the item quantity, and multiple additional invoices can be generated in this manner.
You have the ability to set Shipping, Tax, Discount and/or Surcharge amounts as part of generating the invoice, as you can any other. You can then Invoice the Customer to collect payment.
This process also works with editing existing invoices, if you need to make an adjustment to one already generated and still open. You also can have multiple open invoices with this process.
With this additional flexibility businesses can successfully generate and adjust Invoices as frequently as necessary to ensure all payments reach what they need to for a particular Order!
