Data Mapper Updates: Order Import/Export, Transactions Export, Shipments Import/Export

Our Data Mapper solutions offer the ability to import and export data from other sources, making it easier to keep data in sync. Over time, we’ve expanded not only the data sources that are supported, but also the data types within Zoey that can be synced.

A series of recent updates has opened up additional support as Zoey has continued its improvements to Order Management Solutions (OMS). Here’s some of the latest Data Mapper enhancements.

Order Import

Our latest update effectively allows for automation of Order Import, traditionally a more complex data component for Zoey. Where manual order imports had been previously been available as an option, the addition of Order Import to the data mapper allows for automated importing of order data from external locations like FTP or Dropbox.

A new order CSV Import Mapper Template has been created for ease of setting up the data mapping. Like other Data Mapper components you can select the data source and the schedule, ensuring information shows up at the pace you need it to appear.

Given the amount of information required, Order Import requirements have been established, which match those for manual imports. If you’re new to order imports, be sure to review these as they may help sidestep potential issues.

The Order Import Data Mapper is included for all Zoey customers and is available today. Check out the Zoey Support documentation for the Order Import Data Mapper here.

Order Data Export

One-time exporting of order data has been available on the Order Grid, but now the Data Mapper supports scheduled full order data exporting to a source of your choice.

As noted, orders are complex – there’s over 90 data points that are exported. However, not all data points may be relevant for what a business needs, so the Data Mapper allows flexibility as to which data is mapped and sent out.

Our Zoey Support documentation lists all of the possible data options, as well as settings you’ll want to enable if bundled products or product variations will contain critical data for your other systems.

Transactions

With Zoey’s evolution of Payments to Transactions, covering Deposits, Payments and Refunds, the Data Mapper functionality has been set up to reflect this structural evolution as well.

One-time exports of data can be done through the new Transactions Grid, and automation is managed through the Data Mapper.

Like other Data Mapper exports, you can define which columns will be exported, which location it will be exported to, whether via email or a connected data source, and how often the data is exported.

We’ve got the Transactions Data Mapper documentation here to dive deeper.

Shipments

We’ve also updated the Data Mapper to reflect the latest OMS functionality for both shipment import and export. While this functionality has existed for awhile, the latest updates factor in the recent changes made to Zoey’s OMS capabilities and are reflective of where Zoey has a platform stands today.

If you haven’t set up shipment import/export functionality via the Data Mapper, or haven’t checked on its capabilities in awhile, it’s a great time to review the Zoey support documentation.
